I've got a nasty little sinus infection, so I went downtown to pick up some antibiotics and maybe try Doc Nerd's neti pot idea, even though the very concept freaks me out.  I stepped across to the post office to mail a bill and passed a table with some young persons with Pamphlets.  I heard a soprano voice trill:

Kid at table:  Will you help us defeat this Nazi health care plan?

Now usually I don't debate this stuff.  I probably ought to do it more often, but usually I drop my head and avoid it.  But they were *right there.*  So I popped the bill in the box and said:

Me: NOPE.
Kid:  But why not?  It's a NAZI plan!
Me:  No it is not.  And I am getting sick of hearing that.  It is SO STUPID.

Can we please agree to quit calling things you don't like "Nazi?"  People might not agree with different health care bills and they might want to discuss it.  But I'm getting tired of the screaming mobs, and even more, I am FED UP with hearing people yelling about how this or that person is a Nazi.  

I grew up in a town where no kidding, a LOT of people had lost relatives in the Holocaust.  My great-grandmother went back to the old country after WWII and there was NO ONE THERE.  Her whole family was gone.  The Nazis took over whole countries, trashed homes, and brutally murdered millions of Jews, gypsies, gays and lesbians, Catholics, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, anyone who disagreed with them, and anyone who looked at them funny.  

The very next person who pulls this on me is going to get it.  They're not going to get yelled at, oh no.  No, I am going to slide my glasses down my nose, look benignly over them, and kindly EXPLAIN things to them about Cristallnacht and the Reichstag and Blitzkrieg and Auschwitz and Birkenau, for hours and hours, or until they beg me to stop.  

Unless you are talking about a person who named their kid "Adolf Hitler" so they could demand a bakery pipe "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler" on the kid's birthday cake, in which case, I think it's safe to say that yes, they are a Nazi.
